Concrete Volume Calculator – Estimate Cubic Metres
Quality Inspector

Enter the dimensions of your pour to calculate the total volume of concrete required. Works for any rectangular pour like slabs, footings, or walls.
📐 Formula & Method
Concrete volume is calculated by multiplying Length × Width × Depth. To accommodate for subgrade settling and spillage, it is common to order 5% to 10% extra.
Volume (m³) = Length (m) × Width (m) × Depth (m)
Volume (cu ft) = Volume (m³) × 35.3147
Volume (cu yd) = Volume (m³) × 1.30795
📋 Worked Example
For a 5m × 4m driveway at 0.15m thickness: • Volume = 5 × 4 × 0.15 = 3.0 m³ • In cubic feet = 3.0 × 35.3147 = 105.9 cu ft • In cubic yards = 3.0 × 1.30795 = 3.92 cu yd
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Simply multiply the length by the width and the thickness. Make sure all dimensions are in the same unit (e.g., all in meters) before multiplying.
Yes, it is standard practice to order 5% to 10% more concrete than your exact calculated volume to account for uneven subgrades, spills, and forms bowing.
